On September 3, 2022, Davis Wade Stadium hosted fans to watch their beloved Mississippi State Bulldogs for the first game of the season. Over 54,000 fans packed the stadium (prior to the 2 hour rain delay) to watch the Bulldogs defeat the Memphis Tigers 49-23. The old stadium was as loud as ever, and it was a welcome site to see the State faithful ringing their cowbells in its 108th season in Starkville.
